The process of recruitment for the vacant posts of basic teachers has started in Uttarakhand. The recruitment will be done in two phases. On Friday, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat gave orders to issue district-wise recruitment notifications within a week. In the first phase, recruitment will be done for 2917 posts. While in the second phase, recruitment will be done for 451 posts. Director of Basic Education, Ramakrishna Uniyal, on Friday released the details of district-wise vacant posts for basic teacher recruitment. He held a meeting with all the DEO-Basic of the state through online medium and issued necessary guidelines regarding the recruitment process. Uniyal said that all the districts have released the number of vacant posts afresh.
On the orders of the High Court, 13 posts have been reserved for D.Ed candidates. All DEOs have been instructed to complete all the formalities and issue the recruitment notification by Tuesday.

The government has started basic teacher recruitment, but more than 800 youth doing D.El.Ed in the state are also somewhat worried with this preparation. Actually, the studies of the second to fourth semester of D.El.Ed of 155 youth of the waiting category of the year 2019-20 batch have been completed, but now the examination of the first semester is pending. The result of this examination will be available only by September-October. Whereas the D.El.Ed of the remaining 327 youth of their batch has been completed in December 2023. Similarly, the D.El.Ed of the youth of the year 2020-21 batch will also be completed by December this year. They say that if recruitment is done for all the posts simultaneously, then a job opportunity will be snatched away from their hands.
