The body of former District Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajiv Kumar Jha alias Pappu Jha was found in a neighbor’s house just five meters away from his house in Shivpuri area of Araria city of Bihar. There are no bullet or knife marks on the body but blood was flowing from the mouth and nose. The family members of the BJP leader have suspected that Pappu has been murdered. BJP District President Aditya Narayan Jha said that Pappu’s body was found in the house of Prakash Gupta, a resident of Palasi, where no one was present. The BJP District President has met the Superintendent of Police (SP). The SP has told the BJP leaders that the case will be investigated from every angle, including murder. Pappu Jha was currently a member of the District Working Committee of BJP.
Pappu Jha, originally a resident of Jokihat police station area of Araria district, was the son of Anant Mohan Jha, a teacher at Araria College. He had been living in Araria for a long time and was an active BJP leader. On receiving information about the incident, the forensic team, DIU, dog squad and senior police officers including the city police station reached the spot and started investigation. The police have seized the DVR of the CCTV camera near the incident site. After receiving information about Pappu’s body, BJP leaders gathered at the incident site in Shivpuri. The family members allege that Pappu was murdered by strangulation.

After the information of the incident, SP Amit Ranjan, ASP Rampukar Singh, trainee DSP Madhuri Kumari, city police station in-charge Manish Rajak along with the rest of the team started the investigation. People living nearby have also been questioned. SP Amit Ranjan said that the police is investigating from every angle. The post-mortem of the body has been done by the medical board. The police is waiting for the post-mortem report to understand the cause of death. The SP has said that on the basis of evidence obtained from scientific research, action will be taken against whoever is found involved.
Son in America, daughter in Hyderabad, family in turmoil
After the news of finding Pappu Jha’s dead body, his wife and relatives reached the spot. His wife is unconscious due to her husband’s death. Pappu Jha has two children. His son works in America while his daughter works in Hyderabad. Family members said that the son and daughter have been informed and both have left for Araria.
