The dream of employees working in various units of SAIL including Bokaro Steel Plant to become officers is going to be fulfilled soon. In this regard, SAIL Headquarters has issued orders for internal examination on Tuesday. In this examination, S-6 to S-11 grade employees working in all the units of the company including Bokaro Steel Plant will be promoted to the post of Junior Officer. The process of online application for this will start from April 5. Whereas candidates can apply till 14th April. The date of written examination will be announced after the completion of the online application process.

The exam will be of 360 marks. There will be a written exam of 360 marks to become an officer from an employee. In which Industry and Company Awareness will be of 30 marks, Reasoning 30, Plant Operation Engineering 100, General Plant Awareness 100 and General Functional Management 100 marks. In which 30, 30, 40, 40, 40 questions will have to be answered respectively. After which the candidates scoring more marks will be called for interview. If successful, they will be posted as junior officers at various places.

Qualification and eligibility of candidates for the post of JO
– Employees who have entered S-6 grade on 30 June 2024 can apply for the post of Junior Engineer.
– Employees who have been working in S-6 to S-11 grade for 2 years and have obtained the degree of Engineer can apply for the post of JO.

– Employees who have been working in S-6 to S-11 grade for 5 years and have Diploma, B.Sc or Bachelor’s degree can apply for the post of JO.
– Employees who have been working in S-6 to S-11 grade for 10 years and have Matriculation or ITI degree can apply for the post of JO.

– Candidates who have obtained degree in relevant subject by 3 September 2022 will be eligible for the post of JO.
There will be a two-hour written examination for a total of 25 questions. There will be no negative marking.

– Admit cards will be made available online to the candidates to appear in the written examination.

– Written examination centers have been set up in Bokaro, Bhilai, Rourkela, Burnpur, Durgapur, Bhadravati, Salem, Kolkata, Delhi, Ranchi and Chandrapur.

– Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and disabled candidates will be given the benefit of reservation under the instructions of the President and the relevant Act.
