He National Investigation Agency (NIA) A series of searches were carried out in the Naxalite-infested regions of Chhattisgarh on Friday in connection with a case of arrest and recovery of arms of the CPI (Maoist).

“Half a dozen places in the troubled region were searched thoroughly and several mobile phones, a printer and cash worth Rs 39,100 along with incriminating documents were seized,” the NIA said in a statement.

The six premises subjected to searches are located in the remote villages of Mujalgondi, Kalmuchche, Amabeda and Jiwalamari in Kanker district, he said.

The NIA is continuing its investigation in the case, initially registered by the local police on February 5 this year and taken up by the NIA on February 22.

Early Research led to the arrest of two people in the case, the investigation agency said.
