The BJP on Friday termed the Congress manifesto as “a bunch of lies” and alleged that the grand party that ruled the country for several decades failed to fulfill the promises made in its previous manifestos, be it assembly or Lok Sabha Elections.

BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said: “The Congress manifesto is a bunch of lies. It has been prepared to create confusion among voters,” he said at a press conference. He also said that the Congress, which ruled the country for several decades, today talks about “nyay” (justice), but the Governments led by Congress he did not do justice when he was in power, PTI reported.

The Congress on Friday released a manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which it calls ‘Nyay Patra’. The manifesto was released in the presence of party leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, at the party headquarters in New Delhi. The manifesto focuses on five “pillars of justice” and 25 guarantees under them.

The Congress manifesto said that Lok Sabha Elections 2024 presents an opportunity to “radically change the style of governance that has been present for the last decade.” He called on the people to “look beyond religion, language and caste” and urged them to “choose wisely” and elect a “democratic government”.

According to the PTI report, speaking at the manifesto launch programme, Rahul Gandhi said that the Lok Sabha polls are being held between forces trying to destroy the Constitution and democracy and those who protect them. The Congress also claimed that constitutional values ​​have been relegated to the background and majoritarianism has taken control.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M)’s manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections called for the defeat of the ruling BJP and the strengthening of the Left, a call also made in its manifesto for 2019, and alleged that the secular nature of Democracy was affected both times. This time, the manifesto call, released on Thursday, emphasizes that India is facing an “existential crisis”, according to the PTI report.
