In Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Sonakshi Sinha played the character of a girl who hates men. She has played Faridan and has given foreplay and then sex scene with her maid. She also has an intimate scene with Ustadji. Sonakshi talked about her character and this same-sex foreplay scene during an interview.
A lot happened in Hiramandi at that time
Sonakshi Sinha said in a conversation with News 18 Showsha, initially Bhansali sir had told me that Faridan is very fluid (whose preferences are not limited to one gender). A lot had happened at that time. In a place like Hiramandi, people were very open about all this. Even Ustadji was gay which was in front of everyone. Sir wanted to explore it in a different way. She was also influenced by whatever happened in Faridan’s life.
hates men
There is a scene in the series in which Faridan does foreplay with her maid, which gives a hint that it will turn into a sex scene later on. On this Sonakshi said, she was sold when she was only 9 years old. Maybe this is why she hates men so much. Maybe that’s why it was kept so open. They didn’t explore it much in the one scene where she meets Choudhary saab and his maid. It’s a very big world and Sir has tried to touch different aspects of it in small ways.
Sonakshi asked for the outfit
Sonakshi told that she loved one of the costumes for the film so much that she asked for it from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sonakshi says, my talismanic arms were my favorite outfit. I kept it. I told myself that I definitely want this. I requested sir if I could keep it. The song became very special. The memory of it is so strong that I will remember the day of the shoot for the rest of my life.
