The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023. Aditya Srivastava topped the civil services examination 2023, with Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy bagging second and third positions. respectively.

Others in the top 10 include: PK Sidharth Ramkumar (fourth), Ruhani (fifth), Srishti Dabas (sixth), Anmol Rathore (seventh), Ashish Kumar (eighth), Nausheen (ninth) and Aishwaryam Prajapati (10th). In recent years, women have shown remarkable achievements by securing high ranks in UPSC examinations. The written exam for UPSC 2023 was held in September 2023 and the interviews for the Personality Test were conducted in January-April 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to all the candidates. He congratulated the successful candidates and also applauded the efforts of the candidates who did not clear the exam. “I congratulate all those who successfully passed the 2023 Civil Services Examination. Your hard work, perseverance and dedication have paid off, marking the beginning of a promising career in public service. Your efforts will shape the future of our nation in the times to come. My best wishes to them,” he posted on X.

“I want to say to those who did not achieve the desired success in the civil services exam: Setbacks may be difficult, but remember that this is not the end of your journey. There are chances of success in the exams, but beyond that ., India is rich with opportunities where your talents can truly shine. Keep pushing yourself and exploring the vast possibilities that await you. Prime Minister Modi added.

A total of 1,016 candidates (664 men and 352 women) cleared the examination and were recommended by the UPSC for appointment in various services. In the General category, 347 candidates have been selected, from Economically Weak Section-115, Other Backward Castes-303, Scheduled Caste-165 and Scheduled Tribes-86.

In accordance with Rule 20 (4) and (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, 2023, the Commission also issued a Consolidated Reserve List of candidates.
