At least three people died at the scene and a child was injured in an accident between a car and a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus in Nashik district on Tuesday, police said, PTI reported.
According to PTI, the car was heading towards Bhadgaon from Bhagur in Nashik district when it collided with the MSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction near Gangadhari area on Nandgaon-Chalisgaon highway in north Maharashtra, they said.
The accident was so serious that three occupants of the car, Vandana Santosh Nalwade (40), Shubham Santosh Nalwade (23) and Nikita Manoj Shinde (22), all residents of Palse in Nashik, died on the spot, police said.
A two-year-old boy, who was also in the car, was injured and admitted to a government hospital in Malegaon city, police said.
Three children and two men drown in MP’s Chhatarpur, Vidisha
Meanwhile, in another incident in Madhya Pradesh, as many as three children and two men died in separate drowning incidents in Chhatarpur and Vidisha districts of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Tuesday, PTI reported.
According to PTI, two brothers and their cousin drowned on Monday while bathing in a pond in Ramjhala village near Chandla police station, about 80 km from Chhatarpur, Chhatarpur additional superintendent said. police (ASP) Vikram Singh said.
Relatives began searching for the children when they did not return home, and their bodies were recovered later that night, he said, PTI reported on Tuesday.
The children were identified as Vijay Anuragi (8), his brother Kisari (6) and cousin Ritik (5), he said, the news agency reported.
Meanwhile, in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, two persons drowned while bathing in river Betwa at Nolakhi village under Ganjbasoda (Rural) police station limits, about 40 km from the district headquarters, on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ganjbasoda (Rural) police station. Harikishan Lohia said, according to PTI.
The rescuers brought out the bodies of Kamlesh Raghuvanshi (45) and Bhola Joshi (25), he said.
Police have registered cases of accidental deaths in connection with both incidents, the news agency reported.
