Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were “directly involved” in what he called the “biggest stock market scam” in which retail investors they lost Rs 30 lakh crore, PTI reported. He demanded that a joint parliamentary commission investigate him.
At a news conference in Delhi, he also said stock markets rose after Saturday’s “fake” exit polls and then crashed on Tuesday, June 4, the day the poll votes were counted. Lok Sabha.
According to the PTI report, retail investors lost Rs 30 lakh crore and this is the “biggest scam in the stock market”, Gandhi said.
“For the first time we have observed that during the polls Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman commented on the stock market,” he said.
Why did the Prime Minister and Home Minister give investment advice to people, Gandhi asked and alleged that BJP leaders had information that the exit polls were wrong, according to the PTI report.
“We want JPC to investigate the biggest scam in the stock market,” he said.
Senior BJP officials carried out this scam in the stock market and Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah were directly involved, the Congress leader alleged.
“We want an inquiry against Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah and those who conducted the exit polls,” he said.

The recount for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections took place on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, far below the 303 it won in 2019.
The Congress, on the other hand, recorded strong growth, winning 99 seats. The INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing tough competition and defying all exit poll predictions.
