Republican Party of India (Athawale) president Ramdas Athawale on Monday emphasized that he was given the post of Law Minister in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment due to his party’s significant contribution to the growth of the NDA, reported the press. ANI agency.
While talking to ANI, Ramdas Athawale said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to appoint me Minister of State (MoS) in his cabinet for the third time even as my party does not have any Lok Sabha member. Keeping the following things in mind, the contribution of the Republican Party to the growth of the NDA and the government, Prime Minister Modi gave me this position.”
Expressing his happiness over the responsibility, “It is a matter of happiness that I have been entrusted with the responsibility of the ministry that I have been in charge of for 8 years, which is that of Social Justice and Empowerment, under which 85 percent of the population from our country comes…The population of OBC, SC, ST, senior citizens, disabled people, transgenders and many more are under our ministry,” ANI reported.
Speaking further about his ministry, Athawale said, “Under my ministry, there is the SC commission, the OBC commission… and there are various works that are done under our ministry. Our ministry does the optimal work for the benefit of people with disabilities. “. Giving details about the work done by the ministry, he said, “We have also started Nasha Mukti Abhiyan in the country, which is running in 272 districts. Our aim is to start this Abhiyan in all districts.” Nasha mukta Bharat hona chahiye, Family Nasha mukta honi chahiye.”
The list of portfolios allotted to different ministers in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government was announced on Monday. The BJP retained several key ministries, however, its allies also grabbed some important ministries. Telugu Desam Party leader Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has been appointed Civil Aviation Minister, a post previously held by BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has been appointed Minister for Food Processing Industries.
Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and the Ministry of Steel. Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram has been given the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, has been given the duties of Panchayati Raj Minister, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister.
Apart from these, Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Jayant Singh Chaudhary has been given the independent charge of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and is also the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA won 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP alone won 240 seats. In the lower house of the Indian parliament, made up of 543 members, 272 is the minimum majority figure. The Congress, on the other hand, won 99 seats. The INDIA block crossed the 230 mark.
