After BJP supporters were allegedly stabbed in Mangaluru, Karnataka, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao claimed that the police had been ordered to take strict action against accused in Mangaluru stabbing case. , reported the ANI news agency.
Speaking to reporters, Dinesh Gundu Rao assured that the police will act strictly in the Mangaluru stabbing case and said, “We have told the police to take strict action. The police have already taken strict action and there is no doubt that nobody interfere.” “Whoever does something wrong, the police will have to act according to the law…” ANI reported.
Asserting that there is no political interference, the Minister of State said: “Whatever the reasons, there is no excuse for this type of behaviour. And the police will take action and there will be no political interference.” And he added: “We want peace and harmony in this district. Whoever takes justice into his own hands, action will be taken…” ANI reported.
Earlier on Sunday, two BJP workers, Harish and Nandkumar, were allegedly stabbed, while a worker named Krishna Kumar was assaulted by a group of 20-25 people while celebrating Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony by chanting “Bharat Mata”. ki Jai” under Konaje police station limits at Boliyar in Mangaluru, Karnataka, police said.
A day earlier, the party’s state unit lashed out at the Congress-led government, alleging that it seems the “Tughlak era” has returned to Karnataka.
Taking up the `X` word, the Karnataka BJP wrote: “It seems as if the Thuglak era has returned to Karnataka, where shouting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is no longer safe. The growing hatred towards Bharath under @siddaramaiah is deeply alarming. “BJP workers Harish Anchan and Nandakumar, who were celebrating Prime Minister Modi’s election victory and shouting ‘Bharath Mata ki Jai’ in Mangaluru, were brutally stabbed by Aboobakkar, Bashir, Siddik, Monu and 20 others.”
