Begusarai BJP MP Giriraj Singh has slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that the people of India have consistently failed to trust him in the last three Lok Sabha elections, news agency ANI reported.
“INDIA alliance works on Thethrology. The person (Rahul Gandhi) who could not cross 99 even in three elections is celebrating, Congress has crossed the limits of shamelessness. Where did this `tukde-tukde` alliance get votes? Their alliance got fewer votes than the BJP alone. The people of the country did not trust Rahul Gandhi in three elections (2014, 2019 and 2024),” ANI reported.
Singh further affirmed the enduring popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “Narendra Modi was and will remain the Prime Minister.”
Meanwhile, BJP MP from Kanpur Ramesh Awasthi hailed the strength of the BJP-led NDA coalition and claimed that it is the strongest alliance ever formed.
“Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time. In the meeting, all the leaders expressed their support and said that whatever decisions the Prime Minister takes, we are with him. This coalition will run the government for five years.” The opposition’s job is to raise questions. I think such a strong alliance (NDA) has never been formed,” Awasthi said, ANI reported.
After the counting of votes on June 4, the Varanasi district magistrate presented the certificate to the BJP leaders.

Prime Minister Modi received 6,12,970 votes, while Ajay Rai received 4,60,457 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Ather Jamal Lari occupied the third position with 33,766 votes.

On Friday, the President appointed Narendra Modi to the position of Prime Minister of India.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister is scheduled to take place on June 9 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Apart from ground security, Delhi Police issued a public advisory on Friday announcing a no-fly zone over the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
The advisory prohibits the operation of sub-conventional aerial platforms, which are aimed at preventing possible threats from criminal, anti-social or terrorist elements during the oath-taking ceremony.
According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, far below the 303 it won in 2019. The Congress, on the other hand, recorded a sharp improvement, winning 99 seats. While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats, the INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing tough competition and defying all predictions.
