Prime Minister Narendra Modi He on Tuesday described the NDA’s “expected majority” in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a historic feat in Indian history, noting that people have reposed faith in the ruling alliance for a third consecutive term, reported the PTI.

Prime Minister Modi also praised the alliance workers for their hard work and said words will never do justice to their exceptional efforts.
Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 showed that although the BJP would fall short of a majority in the Lok Sabha, its alliance had won or was leading with around 290 seats, above the majority figure of 272.
No prime minister since Jawaharlal Nehru has returned to power for a third consecutive term.
As the BJP prepares to form its first government in Odisha, Modi also thanked the voters of the state.
“It is a resounding victory for good governance and celebration of Odisha’s unique culture. The BJP will spare no effort to fulfill the dreams of the people and take Odisha to new heights of progress,” he said, news agency reported Tuesday.
Reacting to the TDP-led NDA in Andhra Pradesh targeting a huge majority in Andhra Pradesh, he congratulated TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and another ally, Jana Sena’s Pawan Kalyan.
“We will work for the all-round progress of AP and ensure that the state prospers in the times to come,” he said, according to PTI.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi has won the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh, as counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is underway, PTI reported.
Prime Minister Modi defeated Congress candidate Ajay Rai by a margin of 1,52,513 votes, the Election Commission of India said, the news agency reported on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Modi received around 6,12,970 votes, while Ajay Rai received 4,60,457 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Ather Jamal Lari took the third position with 33,766 votes.
In the state of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP leads with 31 seats, while its allies Rashtriya Lok Dal and Apna Dal lead with two and one seat respectively. Notably, this is much lower than the BJP’s tally in 2019, when it registered a massive victory by winning 62 of 80 seats.
The INDIA bloc has recorded a strong performance, with the Samajwadi Party and Congress leading with 38 and 7 seats respectively.
After the defeat, Congress candidate Ajay Rai thanked the people of Kashi for their support and added that Prime Minister Modi found it difficult to even win by a margin of 150,000 votes.
