The assistant returning officer of Tripura north district has issued a show-cause notice to BJP MLA Jadab Lal Nath for his actions that allegedly violated the Model Code of Conduct on election day, news agency ANI reported.

Nath is an MLA from Bagbasa assembly constituency in North Tripura district.
The notice was issued in connection with an incident that occurred during polling in the Second Phase of the elections on April 26. Her assembly constituency falls under the East Tripura parliamentary seat from where Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman’s elder sister Kriti Devi Singh is contesting. on a BJP ticket, ANI reported.
The BJP MLA reportedly entered the polling station and allegedly misbehaved with the booth-level worker who had been assigned the task of supervising the voter help desk. A press release from the presidency also reports that the incident occurred at polling station number 22 in Bagbasa.
MCC violation: Police complaint filed
Meanwhile, a police complaint has been filed against BJP leader Kajal Das, who reportedly slapped an election official in public view on polling day. ARO North Tripura district filed the FIR at Kadamtala police station, ANI reported.
According to a press release, Kajal Das and her henchmen physically assaulted the presiding officer of booth number 22 when he was trying to clear unnecessary crowding at the polling station, ANI reported.

The press release further added that under the supervision of North Tripura Superintendent of Police, a special investigation team has been formed to quickly conclude the investigation process, ANI reported.
Furthermore, violation of the electoral code of conduct has led to the temporary suspension of agriculture assistant Sushankar Debnath. According to reports, he had posted some social media posts favoring a political party in some official WhatsApp groups.
