The newly married woman was murdered over the demand of a bullet bike in dowry. After the murder, the body was taken to Tikuliya village of Pipra police station area and burnt late on Tuesday night. The incident took place in Chandrahiya ward number 42 of Mufassil police station area. The deceased has been identified as Anjali Kumari 24, wife of Pradeep Kumar, resident of Chandrahiya village. In this case, Ramnarayan Sah, resident of Khijirpura village of Kesaria police station area, has applied for FIR. He has accused Pradeep Kumar, Ranjit Sah, Sandeep Kumar, Ranjit Sah’s wife, Umesh Sah’s wife and others. Mufassil police station in-charge Manish Kumar said that FIR is being registered on the basis of the application.

Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. It is said that on 13 December 2023, his daughter Anjali Kumari was married to Pradeep Kumar. He had given jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh 65 thousand along with cash as a gift. Since the marriage, the said accused used to harass his daughter demanding a Bullet in dowry. On Tuesday night at 8 o’clock, he got the information about the murder of his daughter Anjali Kumari. On receiving the information, he reached Chandrahiya with other people including family members. Then Anjali’s house was closed. Only Pradeep Sah’s elderly grandmother was in the house. Other people had fled.

After which, it was reported that all the people had taken Anjali to a private nursing home in the city. On reaching the private nursing home, it was learnt that the accused had taken the body to Tikuliya village in Pipra police station area. When we reached there at 1 am with the police of Mufassil police station and Pipra police station, we saw that the accused were burning the body. The burning body was videographed. Seeing the police, the accused fled away.

The deceased’s father said that he had gone to bid farewell to his daughter Anjali Kumari on June 1. There her in-laws refused to send off Anjali saying that she was pregnant. He said that the above accused killed his daughter by poisoning and strangulating her and then burnt the body.
