BJP’s northeast Delhi candidate Manoj Tiwari said on Saturday that Arvind KejriwalCampaign efforts would be futile as the public will not listen to a “corrupt politician”, ANI reported.
“The people do not listen to a corrupt politician, who is not even granted bail, but rather conditional release. He asked for votes in 2014, 2019 and will ask for them again in 2024. He does not have the right to enter the Minister’s office Principal, he has no right to go to the Secretariat. He has committed corruption, looted the people of Delhi and was involved in a liquor scam. On what grounds will he ask for votes? Who will even listen to him? said Manoj Tiwari while speaking to ANI.
“I am grateful to the Supreme Court for granting him bail. Now he will not be able to say that he did not get a chance to campaign. All seven seats will be won by the BJP in Delhi,” Manoj Tiwari added, while according to ANI.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal on Friday (May 10) was granted till June 1 by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.
Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal toured in Delhi on Saturday night along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann. Addressing him at the election rally in Mehrauli, Delhi, Kejriwal launched harsh attacks on the Centre, saying that the BJP will be defeated in the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and Delhi. He said that on June 4, the Modi government will not come to power. but instead, the INDIA block government will be formed, of which the Aam Aadmi Party will be a part.
Earlier today, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva also slammed Arvind Kejriwal for “looting the people of Delhi”.
On securing interim bail for Arvind Kejriwal, Virendra Sachdeva said, “He (Arvind Kejriwal) was released on a bail of Rs 50,000. He cannot even sign a document and cannot go to the Delhi Secretariat. He has cheated and looted Delhi parole, Arvind Kejriwal should think about what would happen after June 1. If he had even the slightest shame, he would have resigned. What kind of CM is he who cannot enter the Delhi Secretariat?
“Arvind Kejriwal has said that his four top leaders were in jail. It is not the four top leaders but four corrupt leaders who were in jail, two of them are out on bail… We would also like to see how the people of Delhi will see a criminal how paroled people behave among the public. He will have to tell the public why he was in jail for 50 days. He should count the number of seats for which the AAP is contesting elections,” Virendra said. Sachdeva said.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted provisional bail to the Aam Admi Party convener until June 1. However, as per the terms of his bail, the Delhi Chief Minister cannot make any comment on his role in the Delhi liquor scam case.
Arvind Kejriwal spent over 50 days in Tihar jail after he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a special politics case on March 21, days after the poll schedule for the general elections was announced.
