A man died and his daughter was seriously injured after a civic bus allegedly hit their two-wheeler in nagpur of maharashtraa police official said on Sunday, PTI reported.
According to the news agency, the incident took place at 8:30 am on Saturday in front of Bal Bharti office and involved an ‘Aapli bus’ of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the Sitabuldi police station official said.
“Shivcharan Bhajelal Dharanwar (58), a resident of Hansapuri, died after being rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, while his daughter Anushukta (19) sustained injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment. The two were on a motorcycle to leave his studies,” the official said, according to PTI.
A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act for causing death by negligence as well as rash driving and other offences, he added.
Bus driver reprimanded for reckless driving after passenger complaint
In another incident, a tourist bus driver was booked in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai for rash and negligent driving after a 55-year-old female passenger sustained injuries, a police officer said on Sunday, PTI reported.
According to the complainant, the bus driver was speeding on May 25 and rushed through a speed breaker at Ghansoli, causing her to fall off the seat and injuring her.
“He said he suffered swelling in his spine and abdomen due to the bumpy ride. We have booked the driver under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and IPC, but he has not been arrested,” Rabale said. police the station official said, the news agency reported on Sunday.
Police form over 12 teams to investigate multiple aspects of car accident in Pune
Meanwhile, the police have formed more than a dozen 100-person teams to investigate various aspects of the wide-ranging investigation into the Porsche car accident case that allegedly involved a minor driver, an official said.
The police have registered three separate cases after the car allegedly driven by a minor fatally ran over two IT professionals traveling on a motorcycle in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune city, Maharashtra, on May 19.
The three cases include one FIR in connection with the accident and the second against the bar that allegedly served liquor to the minor. Police have arrested the boy’s father, a builder, for allowing him to drive the car without a valid licence. A third case concerns improper confinement and coercion of the family driver to take the blame for the accident.
Among the boy’s relatives, police have so far arrested his father, grandfather and mother (of the minor) after confirming that their blood samples were replaced with hers, Pune police chief said on Saturday. Amitesh Kumar.
