A female passenger died on Saturday after an MSRTC bus was hit by a private bus in Buldhana district in Maharashtra, a police officer said, news agency PTI reported.
The accident took place at Nandri on the Chikhli-Mehkar highway when the MSRTC bus was heading towards Latur, he said.
“The private bus rear-ended the MSRTC bus. One passenger of the MSRTC bus was killed and some others were injured,” the official said, PTI reported.
In another incident, as many as nine people suffered minor injuries after a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned at Ajanta ghat in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra on Friday afternoon, PTI reported.
The news agency reported that the MSRTC bus was heading from Pune, Maharashtra, to Raver when it overturned around 1 pm, the Ajanta police station official said.
“The bus was carrying 66 passengers, nine of whom suffered minor injuries. The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The injured are from Jamner, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and were given medical treatment,” he added, according to PTI. .

Meanwhile, in another incident, six people, including two children, were killed and three seriously injured in a two-car collision in Akola district of Maharashtra on Friday, police said, PTI reported.
According to PTI, the victims also included family members of Member Legislative Council (MLC) Kiran Sarnaik, who represents Amravati Teachers constituency in Maharashtra, officials said.
The accident took place on a flyover on the Akola-Washim highway near Patur Ghat in the afternoon, an official said, according to PTI.
Raghuveer Sarnaik (28), nephew of the MLC, his sister and three of his relatives were heading towards Akola in an SUV, while four people were traveling in another car in the opposite direction when the accident occurred, the official said. , the news agency reported on Friday.
Of the five family members of the MLC, three were killed and two were injured, an official said.
The accident also claimed the lives of three occupants of the other vehicle and left one injured, the official said.
A 9-month-old girl, identified as Asmira Ajinkya Amle, and a one-year-old baby were among those killed in the accident, the official said, according to PTI.
The three injured were admitted to Akola Government Medical College, while the bodies of the deceased were sent to Akol Rural Hospital for autopsy, he added, according to PTI.
