Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Daljit Singh Cheema on Saturday accused AAP candidate Amansher Singh of distributing voter slips that allegedly violate ECI regulations, ANI reported. The ballot papers include photographs of Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP symbol and were distributed at polling booths in Punjab, where elections are being held.
Cheema said, “The Election Commission of India has clearly stated that there should be no party symbols or photographs of candidates on the voter slips. But the AAP candidate (Amansher Singh) in Gurdaspur has been distributing voter slips. with photographs of Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP election symbol, and the candidate’s photo We have complained to the election observer, Pannu (Balbir Singh Pannu), who is not a candidate, has been entering a polling booth and. threatening people. We have given videos of this to the EC for action.”
Under his official name X, Cheema posted the video of AAP leader Balbir Singh Pannu and alleged that the latter forcibly entered a polling booth.
“Sir, watch this video. In this video, AAP leader Balbir Singh Pannu, Punsup Punjab Vice President forcibly entered booth number 131 of Kot Ahmed Khan village of Fatehgarh Churian assembly constituency. “He is threatening other party workers and interfering in the electoral process. Please order to register a case against him and arrest him immediately,” he said.

SAD’s Cheema is in the election battle for the Gurdaspur seat against Congress’s Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and AAP’s Amansher Singh. BJP has unseated Dinesh Singh from the seat.
Meanwhile, Punjab recorded a voter turnout of 37.80 per cent till 1 pm, according to the ANI report.
All 13 parliamentary constituencies of Punjab voted today in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Elections for the previous six phases of Lok Sabha elections were held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20 and May 25. Assembly elections were also held in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections will also be held in Odisha in the last four phases.
