Actress Kristen Bell shared that she didn’t want her daughters to be actresses. During the opening night of “Reefer Madness: The Musical” at The Whitley in Los Angeles, she talked about her daughters joining the industry, People reported.
When asked how she would feel if her daughters — Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 8, whom she shares with husband Dax Shepard, 49 — followed in their mother’s footsteps, Bell shared that it was Shepard who influenced her to follow an open mind.
“You know, it’s interesting. When I first thought about it, I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t want them to be actors. There’s too much rejection,'” the ‘Frozen’ star said.
“Then my husband said, ‘Wait, do you like your life? Do you have fun? Do you get paid too much? Can you be creative every day?’ That for your children?
Speaking about the advice Bell would give his children if they became actors, he said: “I would have to think more and more about the advice.”
“I would just say, ‘There’s a lot of rejection, but forget about it because if you’re doing what you love, something will find you,'” Bell added.
Bell shared that performing in the classic musical 24 years ago led to the beginning of her family.
“We were in tech on 9/11 and we were under 14th Street. So we had an extreme experience together where we had to hug each other,” Bell said. “And these were the cast and crew, the people in my life who encouraged me to move to Los Angeles.”
The ‘Reefer Madness: The Musical’ producer continued: “And looking back, if I hadn’t had them… I would never have met my husband, which means I would never have had my children. I would never have met them.” “I’ve really touched any of the projects I’ve touched here, so I attribute a lot of my life to this cast and crew and this loving environment I experienced in New York,” People reported.
