Jeremy Renner continues his return to the Hollywood scene following his snowplow accident last year and joins Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out 3,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Renner joins previously confirmed cast members Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny in the upcoming film, titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery`. Writer-director Johnson is a producer, as is Ram Bergman.
Netflix has announced that the third film in the franchise would follow a new murder case in an undisclosed location, with another strange list of suspects being examined by investigator Benoit Blanc (Craig). Last week, Johnson announced that the film will begin production soon.
Previously, writer and director Rian Johnson announced on X that Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming murder mystery thriller. In a 45-second teaser video, he also announced the sequel’s title, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.”
The first part of the franchise starred Daniel Craige, Christopher Plummer, Jaimie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Toni Collette and Katherine Langford. The second installment starred Daniel Craige, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, Hugh Grant, Dave Bautista, Leslie Odom Jr, Ethan Hawk and many more.
Renner continues his return to Hollywood after being hit by an unmanned snowplow in Reno, Nevada, on January 1, 2023. Known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor filmed Mayor of Kingstown one year after the accident, with new episodes of the Paramount+ drama series launching next month.
Lionsgate’s initial ‘Knives Out’ hit theaters in 2019 and grossed more than $310 million at the global box office. It featured a cast that included Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Plummer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
