The counting of votes for the 2024 Indian general elections and the state legislative assemblies of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and the by-elections for the Assembly constituencies will be held on June 4 from 8 am, the Electoral Commission.
The counting of votes for the general elections and for the state Legislative Assembly of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will begin at 6 am on Sunday, he added.
Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu had reviewed the counting day preparations with all chief electoral officers (CEOs) and returning officers (ROs).
The counting trends and results, as per the data entered by RO/ARO for AC/PC, will be available on the ECI website as well as on the Voter Helpline App, both iOS and Android mobile apps. Android, said the electoral body.
The Voter Helpline app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple Play Store. Users can use the available filter to know the details of the winning/leading or runner-up candidate along with the results by constituency or state from the voter helpline app.
The electoral body has also published a manual for returning officers and returning officers available on the ECI website. The Commission’s complete instructions for counting arrangements, vote counting procedure and storage of EVM/VVPAT are now available on the ECI website, it said.
Local visualization of trends and results by CEOs/ROs/DEOs can also be done through digital display boards, he said.
Assembly elections in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh were held simultaneously with the polling in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The long and protracted voting process, which took place in seven phases of India’s 2024 general elections, concluded on Saturday.
