A Sukhoi fighter plane Indian Air Force (IAF) It crashed in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Tuesday, police said, PTI reported.
The pilot and co-pilot ejected safely, Nashik Range Special Inspector General DR Karale told PTI.
The plane crashed in a field near Shirasgaon village in Nashik, the IPS officer said.
The fighter jet was piloted by Wing Commander Bokil and his second-in-command Biswas when it crashed at a farm in Shirasgaon village in Nifad tehsil at 1:20 p.m.
Both pilots ejected safely and suffered minor injuries, another police official said. They were taken to HAL hospital.
After the accident, the plane caught fire that was soaked. Parts of the plane are now scattered over a 500-meter radius, he said.
Teams from Indian Air Force, HAL technical and security unit visited the spot.
