The sitting MP from this seat is YS Avinash Reddy of YSRCP. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, YS Sharmila of Congress, Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy of TDP and YS Avinash Reddy of YSRCP are contesting for public office from this seat. Sharmila is the daughter of former Andhra CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. Avinash Reddy is Sharmila and Jagan’s cousin. The Telugu Desam Party, in alliance with the BJP in the state, has fielded Chidipiralla Bhupesh Reddy for the seat.
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also cast his vote in Kadapa and expressed confidence in victory in both the Lok Sabha and the state elections. “You have seen the governance in the last five years and if you think you have benefited from this governance, then vote for that governance which will lead to a better future,” Jagan Reddy told reporters after casting his vote.
