Police have arrested six people, including three teenagers, for allegedly murdering a 37-year-old man by stabbing him at least 100 times in North Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla last week. The deceased was identified as Ravi Yadav. Police said that this murder which took place on May 8 was pre-planned. This massacre was carried out with a feeling of revenge. Police said that on the same date, 8 May 2020, the brother of one of the accused was accidentally shot dead during an argument with 37-year-old deceased man Ravi Yadav.

According to the police, Ravi Yadav was the complainant and eyewitness in the four-year-old murder case in Anand Parvat area. Yadav was stabbed by a group of people in 2020 after he supported his neighbor in a fight with the accused. One of the accused, identified as Rajan Kumar, had tried to shoot Ravi Yadav, but by mistake the bullet hit him. After this, Ravi Yadav lodged a complaint about the incident with the police and the police arrested the accused.
Police on Monday said Rajan Kumar’s associates wanted to take revenge on Ravi Yadav and killed him on the same day their friend died. Police found the body of Ravi Yadav outside Harijan Basti on New Rohtak Road on May 9.
After extensively scanning the footage of CCTV cameras and raiding the houses of the accused in the Ravi Yadav murder case, the police on Friday arrested one of the accused, 22-year-old Ajit Kumar Jha, from New Market of Sarai Rohilla. Interrogation of Ajit Kumar Jha led the police to other people, Shiv Kumar (20) and Mohammad Iqbal (19), who were arrested near the railway line and Zakheera Bazaar. Three teenagers were also caught on their information.
This is how the murder was planned
Police said the trio planned the murder for over a week as Shiv Kumar, the younger brother of Rajan Kumar, blamed Ravi Yadav for his brother’s death in 2020. The trio called three teenagers aged 14, 16 and 17 to stay near Ravi Yadav’s house and asked them to befriend him.
DCP Meena said that among the three teenagers, one was sent to live near Ravi Yadav’s house a week ago and the other two teenagers were also sent after a few days. All of them were constantly following Ravi Yadav and keeping an eye on his activities, while also pretending to be his friends. On May 8, they all went to Ravi Yadav’s house to kill him, but he had gone out for some work. Police said the teenagers called Ravi Yadav through a social media app and asked to meet him.
DCP Meena said that after meeting, the accused caught hold of Ravi Yadav and stabbed him several times with a knife on his chest, stomach and neck. One of them inserted a knife in Ravi Yadav’s leg and left him there.
Another police officer investigating the case said that Ajit Kumar Jha told us that he and Shiva had received a call from someone from Tihar Jail 8-9 days ago. An acquaintance who called asked him to kill Ravi Yadav and he decided to do so on May 8. Deceased Ravi Yadav was a cab driver for an app-based cab service and is survived by his 35-year-old wife Savitri and two children.
