Congress leader Digvijaya Singh was attacked on Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accusing the opposition party of receiving money from “Adani and Ambani”.
Addressing a rally in Telangana on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of having a “deal” with Ambani and Adani, and asked whether the party has received “a lot of black money” from the two businessmen to make its leader Rahul Gandhi stop “abusing” them.
“I want to ask from the soil of Telangana, let the ‘shehzada’ announce, how much has been withdrawn from Ambani-Adani. Have large amounts of money reached Congress? What agreement has been reached so that Ambani-Adani’s abuses have been ceased overnight?” the chief minister said while addressing an election rally at Vemulawada in Telangana.
In response, Singh, addressing a rally in Ratlam, said: “Modiji said that Ambani and Adani had sent money to the Congress. So the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI were taking a nap? We are ashamed to call him our prime minister. It is not sincere not even with Adani and Ambani.”
Modi promised to bring back the black money hidden abroad, but instead it was going abroad, Singh further alleged. About 100 families own all of India’s capital and the country’s economy would collapse if they moved, the Congress Rajya Sabha MP further claimed.
“The currency note ban left three crore people jobless. The Modi government has not waived loans to farmers in the last 10 years. Our (UPA) government had written off farm loans totaling Rs 72,000. crores.”
Singh said. Stating that several leaders were occupying important positions even though they failed to win from their own positions, Singh said, “We should take a decision to ensure Congress wins at every stand.”
The Congress has fielded former Union minister Kantilal Bhuria against BJP’s Anita Chauhan, wife of Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan, from Ratlam, where Lok Sabha elections will be held on May 13.
