His father has reportedly absconded since then, an official said, according to PTI.
The siblings, a 13-year-old girl and her younger brother, were found dead on Saturday inside their father’s grocery store in the Keshav Puram area of northwest Delhi, police said.
The news agency reported that the children’s father Manish, who is suspected of killing the two brothers, is absconding and efforts are on to nab him, they said. Police said a call about the incident was received at 7:15 p.m.

“He tried to contact Manish, but his mobile phone was not available. In the evening, when other family members opened the shutter of their shop, they found the two brothers lying inside in an unconscious state,” an officer said, reported the PTI.
They were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead, he said, adding that their school bags were also inside the shop, located on the ground floor of their house, police said, according to PTI.
According to a police officer, Manish is suspected delicate to their children by giving them some poisonous substance or suffocating them. “The matter is being investigated from all possible angles and the bodies have been sent for autopsy,” the officer said, adding that the actual cause of death will be determined only after the report arrives.
During investigation, it was found that Manish was upset due to some financial problem; however, more research is underway. Statements have been taken from the family members, police said.
