Opposition leaders are being attacked by officials of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress claimed on Sunday, claiming that while its chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s helicopter was being checked in Bihar’s Samastipur, leaders of the NDA-led the BJP were allowed to move “freely”. “reported news agency PTI.
Kharge on Saturday addressed back-to-back rallies for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Samastipur and Muzaffarpur in the state.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter was checked in Kerala and now party president Kharge’s helicopter has been checked in Samastipur, Bihar, Congress leader Rajesh Rathorre claimed in a video message on X .
Rathorre, who is the chief spokesperson of the Congress’s Bihar unit, also shared a video to claim that the Bihar chief electoral officer is monitoring Kharge’s helicopter check in Samastipur, PTI reported.
The video showed a helicopter with officers, including police, around it.
“The Election Commission (EC) should clarify whether this check on Congress leaders’ helicopters is routine and whether similar checks were also carried out on top NDA leaders,” Rathorre said in his video message, PTI reported.
“The EC should make all such records public, otherwise it will be interpreted that it is only targeting the opposition leaders to arrest them, and is letting the NDA leaders roam free,” he said, PTI reported.
The Congress spokesperson said the EC should release videos of all leaders who have been checked, PTI reported.
