A day after the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and JDU’s Nitish Kumar, whose support is key to formation of the next government, they have to decide whether they want to join hands with an autocrat, a comment apparently aimed at BJP leaders, news agency PTI reported.
Speaking to reporters, Raut said his party will not object if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi decides to lead the INDIA block government and be the face of the prime minister.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc will meet in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the course of action forward. Raut also said that Prime Minister Modi should accept that he has faced a moral defeat as his party did not get a majority to form the government and the Modi brand is now over, PTI reported.
“Chandrababu and Nitish Kumar have to decide if they want to go with an autocrat and work in a democratic system. I don’t think they will go with an autocrat,” Raut said, PTI reported.
“Modi ji does not form government for the third time,” he said, PTI reported.
According to the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has won 240 seats, 32 short of the absolute majority.
With the support of key allies, N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), which won 16 and 12 seats in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, respectively, and other alliance partners, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossed the halfway point.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut, in a press conference, praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and conveyed the party’s thoughts on Rahul Gandhi’s Prime Ministerial prospects, ANI reported.
Meanwhile, he also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for falling short of majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
At a press conference on Rahul Gandhi’s prospects of becoming Prime Minister, Shiv Sena leader UBT said, “If Rahul Gandhi is willing to accept leadership, why would we oppose it? He has proven himself to be a national leader.” For many times. He is one of the popular leaders. We all love him and love him. “There are no objections or differences in the alliance.”
He further said, “Since the beginning of the elections, the INDIA alliance has no dissonance over the post of Prime Minister. This alliance has always fought to save democracy and the constitution from the dictatorial BJP government and people have voted for us. Narendra “Modi and Amit Shah should accept their defeat.”
Taking a jibe at the BJP, Raut claimed, “Since yesterday, I have noticed that they are repeating ‘Modi ki Sarkaar – NDA Ki Sarkaar’, but where is it? They were talking about bringing ‘Modi Ki Sarkaar’. The BJP had not done so. “. “They didn’t get any majority. They only have between 235 and 240 seats.”
