It’s been about a month since the release of Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, but the discussion about this film is still going on. People have liked the work of Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dojhans in the film. At the same time, people have also liked the music of the film very much. If you have seen the film, you must have noticed that many shots in the film have been shown through animation.
Why did Imtiaz resort to animation?
Questions also arose in the hearts of the fans as to why some shots in the film were shown through animation. Imtiaz’s fan asked him a question related to this. Imtiaz Ali was answering the questions of fans in an interview of Connect Cine. Meanwhile, one comment from the audience was about how Imtiaz used animation to show Diljit lighting a cigarette.
It was necessary to show smoking in the film
On this Imtiaz said, “I try not to show anyone smoking in my films.” He further said that you will not have seen anyone smoking in any of my films. It was important to show this in the film because it was an integral part of what Chamkila did in her real life. I had not imagined it like this, it actually happened and it was necessary to show it.
Imtiaz did not want Diljeet to smoke
Imtiaz said that all those people of Punjab who knew Chamkila also knew that Chamkila used to smoke. For this, I didn’t want to show Diljit smoking, and he doesn’t smoke anyway, so that was a bit of a problem. Therefore that scene was shown through animation.
Let us tell you, Imtiaz Ali has used animation at many places in the film. Be it showing violence in Punjab or the roof collapsing due to people coming to listen to Chamkila, Imtiaz has taken the help of animation at these places.
