BPSC Head Teacher, Headmaster Recruitment: Today, April 10, is the last date of application for recruitment to more than 46000 posts of headmasters and head teachers in the schools of Bihar. Through BPSC examination, 6061 posts of head teachers in higher secondary schools under the Education Department and Scheduled Caste and Tribe Welfare Department and 40247 posts of head teachers in primary schools of the Education Department are to be recruited. 35 percent seats are reserved for women in both the posts. Earlier also an examination was conducted for the recruitment of head teachers but not many teachers were successful in it. Only 461 were successful. In such a situation, applications are being taken for the re-examination.

Only those who pass efficiency test will become head teachers.
According to the notification from the Commission, teachers appointed in 2012 or after are required to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test for application. At the same time, for teachers appointed before 2012, it will be necessary to pass the efficiency test. The provision of efficiency test or eligibility test will not be applicable for teachers working in schools affiliated to CBSE, ICSE and Bihar Board. To apply, minimum eight years of continuous service on the post of secondary teacher in a state government school, minimum 12 years of continuous service on the post of secondary teacher in schools having permanent affiliation from CBSE, ICSE and Bihar Board and minimum 12 years of continuous service on the post of secondary teacher in schools having permanent affiliation from CBSE, ICSE and Bihar Board. Minimum of 10 years of service on the post of Higher Secondary Teacher in a school having permanent affiliation from it is mandatory.

No provision for negative marking
The merit list for appointment to the post of Principal will be made on the basis of marks obtained in parts one and two of the written examination. The written examination will be objective and multiple choice based. Each question will be of one mark each. There is no provision of negative marks for wrong answers. There is no provision for revaluation for the written examination. Part one of the question paper will be of 100 marks and part two will be of 50 marks. Candidates will be given two hours 30 minutes to answer all 150 questions. Questions will be related to General Studies and B.Ed. Part one will be on General Studies and part two will be questions related to B.Ed syllabus for Principal.

For the second time, the examination is being conducted for the head teacher, 35 percent reservation will be applicable for women, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination.

The period will be calculated on the basis of date of contribution or date of attaining training qualification, whichever is later. Age calculation is fixed as minimum 31 and maximum 47 years for general category from August 1, 2023, there is a provision for age relaxation for candidates of other categories.
