The departmental action was initiated by 70 officials who did not attend the training of presidents and electoral officials that was held here. District magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar has taken action against all these officials.
Taking stock of the first day of the training session, Gangwar on Monday informed the respective departments to take strict action against these officials under relevant sections of the Representation of the People Act.

The training included the provision of a comprehensive understanding of the voting process and the guidelines that must be followed to hold free and fair elections. elections.
Gangwar also noted that a total of 3,200 officials will be trained. “There are two batches of officials who are being trained in two shifts. Each shift has around 1,600 officials.
We had earlier warned officials that attendance is essential because during this training, officials will learn various strategies to mitigate problems that may arise on polling day,” Gangwar said.
Additionally, the officials were briefed about the functioning of the EVMs and VVPATs. They were also informed about the procedure to be followed in case the EVMs are damaged.
