Sanjay Leela Bhansali is in the news these days for his dream project Hiramandi. This series depicting the Kotha system of the 1940s is going to premiere next week. The series features the biggest set with the most amazing cast ever. This set took the hard work of 700 artisans and several months to make. Now this luxurious set can be seen on screen.
largest set
Sanjay Leela Bhansali spends much more time designing the set, preparing the look of the actors and their costumes than he does on his script. His vision is not just to present the script to the audience through acting. Rather, they try to create the entire scene as it would have been at that time. Grand sets have been seen in his previous films like Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Ram Leela, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Padmavat. But for Hiramandi, the director broke his own records and created a set that cannot be forgotten. The director himself had told about this. The set of Hiramandi has been made by 700 artisans working hard day and night.
Said this for the set
In a recent interview, Sanjay Leela Bhansali talked about the grand set of Heeramandi. The director said, ‘I always wanted to get lost in my work. This is my biggest set so far. It seems I have gone further than I ever thought I could. I am enjoying and understanding more while making films. I like building big sets, but I don’t want to control everything. I have prepared a big set, but the audience will see only what they want. Sometimes people say there’s too much to see, and they miss important parts of the scene.’ In such a situation, the wait for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has increased. This series can be watched on Netflix from May 1.
