The agencies’ investigation into the sending of bomb threat e-mails to schools in Delhi-NCR has now come to rest on three foreign servers, three websites and three chat apps. Some part of the content of the e-mail is similar to the content written on the website operated by the terrorist organization IS. Based on this, some part of the content of the threatening email is suspected to be copied from here. The matter is being investigated at three levels. Delhi Police Special Cell is in touch with Interpol through CBI.
In this case, efforts are also underway to obtain information related to IP addresses from three foreign servers with the help of Interpol. This includes Russia, France and another foreign server occasionally used by the terrorist organization IS. At the same time, efforts are being made to investigate this network of suspects by investigating three such chat apps including Telegram.
Delhi Police got success in getting bomb threat messages sent to schools linked to France.
According to sources, such e-mails are usually sent using a VPN connection, so that the real IP address can be hidden. Sometimes the dark web is also used to send threatening e-mails. If darkweb was used, then it would be very difficult for the police or any agency to trace the IP address. If the location has been hidden as per the normal procedure, then the cyber team is confident that the address will be found soon.
The Special Cell has registered the case under IPC sections 505 (2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between different classes), 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy). FIR has been registered. In the e-mail sent to the schools, it was claimed that explosives had been planted on their premises.
found some new clues
The language of the content sent in the e-mail matches the language of some other organizations including the terrorist organization IS. Like Sawarim is an Arabic word, which IS has been using for the last several years. For this reason, this e-mail sent is being linked to IS, while some indications have been found about the e-mails made by the suspects on the chat app, hence the police is carrying forward the investigation in this direction also. On the other hand, all three are being turned towards suspicious foreign servers for IP addresses. The Special Cell is constantly in touch with Interpol through CBI for all this information.
