Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Hiramandi is receiving praise. The look that the director has given to Lahore’s brothel is being liked. The director has worked closely on this series of eight episodes. There are many such scenes in this entire series which are being seen on repeat. In such a situation, lyricist AM Turaj, who has written songs for the series, has shared with us an incident related to the shooting of Hiramandi. Lyricist AM Turaj has seen the shooting from very close. He got goosebumps after seeing a particular part of the series being shot. The lyricist revealed about this scene in an exclusive conversation with us.
Our question: Which is your favorite scene from Hiramandi and why?
AM Turaj’s answer– (Smiling) Well, my favorite scene is the one where I myself appeared on screen as a poet. I have done a small scene in which I was in the role of poet Niazi. But to be honest, there was one scene which I was shocked to see being shot in front of my eyes. I had goosebumps. That scene was the Azadi song shown at the end of the series. This song was shot in front of me. I was seeing many women together with torches and candles. The contribution of men in the freedom struggle is always remembered. But in this scene, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had shown the contribution of women which was fantastic.
The special thing is that this song of Azadi has been written by AM Turaj himself. He could not believe that this song would be shot so beautifully. Further, AM Turaj praised the work and vision of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, describing his second song Tilsmi Bahen as excellent.
